Transport Special Breakfast event - Thursday 26th May.

At a time when we are wintessing first-hand, a changing landscape with devolution deals shaping up across the UK and local areas championing their strategies, we are delighted to be putting on this Business Leader's breakfast with a particular focus on high-level strategic transport plans.

The topics and speakers at this event include:

1) The Leicester & Leicestershire Rail Strategy - Mark Beckett, SLC Rail

SLC Rail is an organisation which helps government bodies, developers and TOCs to form visionary rail strategies, develop successful rail schemes and manage project delivery.

2) Midlands Connect Transport Strategy - Maria Machancoses, Programme Director, Midlands Connect

Midlands Connect is £5 million collaboration currently developing a transport strategy that identifies the major infrastructure projects needed to improve the connectivity of our region’s key locations so we can help drive economic growth and power the Midlands Engine.

3) East Midlands Airport development plans - Jack Kelly, Head of External Affairs, EMA

EMA was rated the 11th busiest passeneger airport in the UK and the second busiest UK airport for freight traffic in 2015.

4) Sustainable Transport Delivery Excellence Programme - Matthew Easter, England Director Midlands and East, Sustrans.

Sustrans has secured funding from the DfT and is working with us and our local authority partners to support the development of a strategy and vision for the delivery of ambitious but achievable cycling, walking and sustainable travel change.

This breakfast is open to any individuals and businesses from across Leicester & Leicestershire. In particular, those with an interest in the areas of transport, distribution and logistics might find this beneficial.

We are expecting this event to well attended and a waiting list will be in operation.
