Start up Loans for young people

Fri 15th March, 2013 by Leicester & Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership

Spring are a Delivery Partner for Start Up Loans http://www.startuploans.co.uk/ - a government initative to provide young people (aged 18-30) with low interest loans to start their business.

The loans are available via Spring to young people living across Leicester City and Leicestershire County with a viable business plan.

Clients get access to:
- A qualified business advisor to help them create a viable business plan
- Workshops to assist them in developing their plans and understanding how to run a viable business
- Access to loan finance at 6% APR to be paid back within 5 years, with an optional 1 year holiday
- Access to a volunteer business mentor over a 9 month period (with option to extend)

The loans are from £500, with no maximum loan value, although we expect most to under £10,000 probably closer to the £3,500 mark, dependant on business sector and need.

This is particuarly exciting news for young people living in the county who may currently have less access to support than those living in the city. There are no restrictions based on employment or otherwise, benefits etc - it is open to any young person with a viable business plan.
